Today, we welcome young, emerging artist Anand Joshi as Face of Rajkot…

It was a moment of pride for Gujarat, when four candidates claimed victory in National Youth Festival at Guwahati, Assam, one among them is Anand Joshi.

Let us have a flashback, in past life and achievements of Anand,

Born to an academic couple, surrounded and nurtured among an academicians family, Anand’s love and interest for music got reflected in very early days of his childhood.

His love for tabla was irresistible, when he was frequently seen banging his small little hands on any surface, be it a dining table at home or a school bench. Anand started his journey towards Rajkot at the age of 12 and started getting his advance training to play Tabla from Late Shri Nitai(jee) Chakraborthy, where his rough and latent talent got polished.

After Nitai(jee) leaving for heavenly adobe, Anand’s new Tabla Guru is Shri Mahendi Hasanjee.
Anand is a National youth festival winner, he has claimed winning trophies at different levels in, Baal Pratibha, Youth Festivals organised at district and zone levels, Pandit Omkarnath Thakur Competition organised by Gujarat Government. Anand has mesmerized the audience on taals of tabla from the stage of National Bal Bhavan, Delhi.

Table Visharad now, Anand is one of the founders of The Shankara Group, the only band having spectrum of talent pool comprising of artists, technicians, photographers and providing platform and stage, to the emerging artists.
