# 101, Ishwar Gehi, an architect

By Faces of Rajkot, September 11, 2015

I admire simplicity, and this interior is in keeping with the simple lifestyle of its occupants.

Even when I was in a small town, Mendarda, where I belong to, I always dreamt big. After finishing my studies I settled in Rajkot 25 years back and it was my hard work, luck , and blessing that got me an international award “Gaurav vanta Gujarati” very last month.

I believe that a single lifespan is not enough to explore the field of architecture.

A rolling stone gathers no moss. Neither does an architect who reinvents the design wheel each time we face a creative challenge. In my recent projects I tried to be both Oriental and adventurous and clearly demonstrating that we can pull off surprises even where a tired and overdone cliché. And one of the examples is my latest project in Rajkot Arya Club.

We thank Yash Gehi for your inputs.
