#144, a Change Agent, Nisha Punjabi Thakrar

By Faces of Rajkot, November 27, 2015

Do you remember the fear of first day of your school? Parents pushing or leaving us for better future but, we do not understand at that time. Sobbing, alone, disappointed. Those were the days. Early childhood is a crucial stage of life in terms of a child’s physical, intellectual, emotional and social development.

Well, here I am, Nisha Punjabi Thakrar, Chairperson Gujarat – All India Early Childhood Association, Principal – Sri Sri Academy, using this platform to share how important is the role of a Preschool Teacher. When children fear being alone in a new atmosphere, it is we who hold their hands and help them step into the outside world. We befriend them, allay their fears, give them hope, stoke their curiosity and guide them into a new world. During early age, a child goes through the growth and development of social skills, self-esteem, perception of the world and moral outlook are established during these years.I have acquired emotional, experiential and spiritual knowledge engaging with children up to 8 years. In my journey I come across many teachers who aren’t motivated enough working as a Preschool Teacher. Trust me, it is easier to educate collage or school kids than mold a preschool kid.

It is never an easy job to teach in preschool so, the entire thought changes to a proud statement of “I am a Preschool teacher & I am the change agent”!!

I am the proud face of Rajkot.
