#188, A Piece of Cake

By Faces of Rajkot, March 15, 2016

We were roaming in a crowded street to click some photos and it drew my attention when someone pulled my shirt from behind. It was a poor looking boy holding a small child in his hands. He must be around 12 years of age. I was sure why he pulled my shirt and what he was going to ask for. I had made up my mind in seconds to say no for money.

But, he asked me, “Are you rich?” This question gave me a super shock. I said no. And he asked for one rupee. This was unusual to me. I asked him what would you ask if I would be rich? He said “Cake” my little brother loves cake. Once someone gave me a piece and I brought it home for my brother and since then he wants to have it again.

On asking to buy a piece of cake to my father he said, only rich people eat that.
