I became an RJ at the age of 17 when S FM started in Rajkot. But later my parents insisted me to complete graduation so I completed my B. Com. and joined the new brand of S FM which is Red FM.
In school, I was very introvert and shy. I could not talk to anyone. So when my school friends come to know that I work as Radio Jockey, they are pleasantly surprised.
I believe in “Do what you love, Love what you do.” I love my work. But let me just tell you the good and the bad part of it.
Let’s start with the good things in brief… I got many new friends. And sometimes they share some of their lives’ incidences which they never shared with anyone. It’s heart warming. I get to know many people regularly. And it’s heartwarming to know that I am loved by many.
And to tell you about the dark side… It takes 6-8 hours to prepare for one show in which I have to talk only a few times in an hour. I can cope with that as I have full support of my fellow colleagues. But the most irritating thing I face is when I am misunderstood. I genuinely try to do my bit for the society but it hurts when some people makes a mockery out of it and writes/talks ill about me and my work. It puts me off at times but when I read replies which are supporting me, I get all my energy back for the work.
