# 98, Bijal Damani, An Educator

By Faces of Rajkot, September 5, 2015

Education which does not prepare a student for life – is not education at all.

Namaste Rajkotians. This is Bijal Damani, an educator and a life long learner from Rajkot.

I firmly believe that EDUCATION is much more than textbooks – it has to have real life connections. And hence I try to prepare my students with all the skills needed to survive and succeed in 21st century through various projects. One such project is – Social Entrepreneurship Project Galaxy Bazaar wherein I try to bridge the opportunity gap in the community by providing quality education to underprivileged section of the society.

Galaxy Bazaar has raised more than 42,00,000 in the last 9 years for the same cause. Any work which is done selflessly and with honourable intention is always noticed and appreciated.

I am sharing this post from Delhi – getting ready to receive the highest national honour for educators – National Teachers Award. The award will be facilitated by Hon. President Shree Pranab Mukharjee at Vigyan Bhawan.

Wishing a very happy teacher’s day to all the educators out there – who have been working hard to make a difference.
